Footwear tips for your Wedding Day by Mindy Weiss

Piperlime and Mindi Weiss have joined forces to bring you the ultimate wedding day shoe tips.
Mindy is a celebrity wedding and events planner for stars like Gwen Stefani and Eva Longoria Parker. And she says every girl need two pairs of shoes for her big day - one for the ceremony, one for the reception: "I call them fantasy and reality shoes".


The fantasy shoe:
One word: Dramatic. "This is the shoe you'll walk down the aisle in. It's the shot." So make sure those amazing strappy heels are picture perfect.


The reality shoe:
"You'll be dancing all night, so comfort is key," says Mindy. Go for flat sandals or lower heels. "It's ok. Your dress will be bustled at this point."

Want to avoid the unavoidable? Well, Mindy Weiss has seen it all. So take it from her and get your shoes ready to wed.

1. Skip the stones.
   One thing to watch out for: rhinestones and jewels. "You don't want them to snag your dress," says Mindy.
2. Stretch them out.
   "Walk in your shoes for two weeks before the wedding," advices Mindy. "This will break them in."
3. Scuff it up.
   Mindy saus to use sandpaper to rouch up the soles. That way you won't slip when you're headed down the aisle.
4. Strap in.
   "Slingback can be hard to keep on the foot," says Mindy. "So pick a pump or something that goes around the ankle."
